 Great Northwest Arkansas Workout
04.27.2010
AthletePLUS
Time: 8:00am - 4:00pm

An estimated 700 fourth graders from schools from the Northwest Arkansas region will be actively participating in physical and health related activities.

"The Great Arkansas Workout is a perfect introduction to exercise for many children each year" according to Blair Dean, Chair of the Arkansas Governors Council on Physical Fitness, "the Council is working to make a difference in the health and wellness of today's youth and it's never to early to start healthy habits".

"Applications for The Great Arkansas Workout were taken online from Physical Education Teachers in the State and school groups were selected on a first come first serve basis" said Martha Neal, event chair and Council member, "The Great Arkansas Workout is an opportunity for the Arkansas Governor's Council on Fitness to share with fourth graders from across the state that fitness is hard work, but when it is made fun, we forget that it is work. The Great Arkansas Workout is a point of introduction to students to a variety of fun ways to get moving....to get fit".
